Description
A story about the years that keep us apart ... And the moments that bring us together. When Lee (Streep) left home for seventeen years, Bessie (Keaton), her sister, was left alone to take care of their chronically ill father, Marvin (Cronyn). With Bessie diagnosed leukemia and will die without a bone marrow transplant. This precipitates the two estranged sisters an uneasy reunion. Lee realizes that the old man's welfare will fall to her if Bessie dies and she is not ready for it. So Lee takes her sons, Hank (DiCaprio) and Charlie (Scardino) for test as a possible bone marrow donor for Bessie. The meaning of family and togetherness foster as the movie goes.
